Dr Shannon has been practicing veterinary medicine for over 15 years and joined the
Brentwood community three years ago. She has a strong passion for small animal
practice and believes in providing compassionate, personalized care that makes both
pets and their owners feel comfortable and understood.
In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Shannon has a special interest in working dogs,
particularly police K9s. She serves as the medical instructor for Spike’s K9 Fund, an
organization dedicated to supporting working dogs through medical training and
protective gear.
Dr. Shannon also has a deep passion for education and mentorship. She is an adjunct
professor at Mississippi State University, where she teaches veterinary courses and
helps guide the next generation of veterinarians. She frequently mentors externs from
various universities, sharing her clinical experience and commitment to high-quality,
compassionate care.
Her professional credentials reflect her ongoing commitment to excellence and
wellbeing in veterinary medicine. Dr. Shannon holds certifications as a Senior Dog
Certified Veterinarian, Veterinary Burnout Prep Certified, Leader Certified,
Certified Veterinary Business Leader, Fear Free Level 3 Certified, QPR Certified,
Certified Compassion Fatigue Professional, and is Emergency Response
Certified.
At home, Dr. Shannon’s life is happily full of animals — two Great Danes, two Cavalier
King Charles Spaniels, a cat, chickens, ducks, geese, and two guinea pigs. When she’s
not in the clinic, you can often find her spending time with her pets or enjoying the
Brentwood community she now calls home.
